EAT OR BE EATEN
MIXED MEDIA INSTALLATION WITH ORGANIC MATTER
This installation explores the complex and increasingly unbalanced relationship between humans and food. What was once a reciprocal partnership has become extractive, we consume without treating what sustains us as an equal.
In losing our connection to the source, we have also lost our sense of gratitude. We take more than we give, exploiting abundance rather than honoring it, and neglecting to care for the earth that nourishes us.
Within the installation, this fragile dynamic reaches a breaking point. The boundary, the veil, between human and food, subject and object, becomes increasingly thin. As the distinction dissolves, we are no longer separate from what we consume. Instead, we become entangled in the same cycle of decay. In merging with the fruit, we are confronted with our own impermanence, our complicity, and the consequences of a relationship built on excess rather than reciprocity.
